PORTFOLIO

Cottage garden with vegies

Brief
The client wanted a cottage garden with herbs and vegetables such as tomatoes and leaf greens. The garden also had to be interesting and safe for a toddler and have private nooks for their cat.

A cottage garden is always great fun to design and build because one is trying to achieve plant density with perennial flowers and herbs. This garden was no exception.

What we did
The garden is filled with traditional cottage plants such as lavenders and Hellebores. Native plants also express the cottage style such as Geralton wax, Eristemon and purple and paper daisies.

We also planted a Magnolia 'Elizabeth' (cream flower) and Gordonia for its size and beautiful camellia-like white flowers.

To finish off we laid a Santa Ana Couch lawn for its wear resistance and shade tolerance.
