Lush relaxation, dog-friendly Brief Papers, a chilled wine, a beautiful private garden, sunshine and a cooling breeze, now that's our ideal, said the owners. It also had to be dog-friendly and low maintenance. Since the living room leads straight into the garden via French doors, the owners wanted a lush garden that was elegant and restful. What
we did Out went the large garden shed, brick wall, pergola, lattice, hardiplank fence in bad condition, timber deck, lamp and old pavers. In came a new fence and retaining wall, a raised area tiled in elegant quartz stone with sweeping curved steps down to a lush green dog-proof lawn bordered by garden beds filled with plants from the rainforests of northern NSW. Two huge old palm trees were retained for their size and shade. Without all the structure around them their beauty became more apparent. For
added shade we built a small pergola covered in climbers, for scent
Gardenias and Star Jasmine, for privacy a Lilly Pilly tree, for colour
Bougainvillea and for feasting, Mandarin, Lemon and Midyim. "Our new garden has totally changed our lifestyle, and the living room flows naturally into the garden. We love it." - Alinta and Tony
